TFA: It Will All Be Mine

The greatest Transformers villain EVER: Sideways.

While the Autobot-Decepticon armada wages war with Unicron over Cybertron, Optimus Prime and Megatron delve deep into the heart of the Chaos Bringer, united by their common enemy. But will even the combined might of the leader of the Autobots and the leader of the Decepticons be enough to bring this monster down?


Sideways

Sideways 'The Turncoat' as I call him, since he stabs everyone in the back. Originally Sideways came into the story as an Autobot, a drifter who happened to stumble upon Earth. However, almost immediately he betrayed them and joined the Decepticons, stealing the Star Saber and nearly killing Hotshot in the process. For a good chunk of the series he plays the role of a Decepticon, but his loyalties are always on the brink. He finally leaves the Decepticons when one of them discovers him communicating with a mysterious being (who's never identified in the series, though it's implied to be Unicron). From that point on he operates on the fringe, riling the Autobots and Decepticons against each other and creating unrest within the Decepticons.

The movies definitely DO NOT do the series justice. Half of the most famous Transformers aren't even in it, and Starscream is nothing like he is in the show.

Despite how great Transformers: Armada is, my favorite series is easily Transformers: Energon, which takes place 20 years after the war ended. There's a lot more violence in it and the story is centered entirely around the war with Unicron rather than having Unicron tacked on at the end.
