Description
When Forward Unto Dawn comes under siege by a Covenant fleet, John and Cortana fight back with what little defenses the annihilated vessel has left. It's a losing battle, made even worse when the planet they're orbiting suddenly opens up, creating a massive gravity well. As Forward Unto Dawn is torn to shreds by the gravity well, they're forced to jump ship.

Sucks that the ship was destroyed before it could even enter inside Requiem and make an epic crash landing like Pillar of Autumn did in Halo 1.
It would have been awesome if Chief rode on top of the Forward Unto Dawn as it went through the gateway, then jumps into a free fall through the clouds as the Frigate plummets through the sky and smashes into the ground.
